DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE APPLICATIONS
In order to apply for permanent resident status in Canada, or to sponsor a family member for permanent residence, you will need to
compile the following documentation: 1. Identify documents for you and your family members (whether they are accompanying you to Canada or not) including passports, birth certificates, family registry documents, civil registry documents, identity cards, marriage certificates, divorce certificates, military cards, etc. 2. College or University diplomas, certificates, transcripts 3. Letters of employment indicating the date you started working, your position, and your responsibilities 4. Proof of available funds to support yourself in Canada, by way of a bank statement 5. Proof of your language skills 6. Offer of employment from a Canadian employer (if you have one) 7. If you have family in Canada, a copy of their Canadian citizenship or permanent resident card and proof of your relationship to them by way of a birth certificate and/or marriage certificate
